Our story begins in Toronto, but becomes official in Halifax, Nova Scotia 

Candace Productions 491 is a Toronto-based independent production house founded by Prudence Wangu. After her training in Producing 101(JN/14th/2026), Halifax- Nova Scotia the company took its official grounding speech on Instagram. Prudence had already produced a film in Kenya under the name Candace Productions, called Karma. Shortly after moving to Canada, Prudence collaborated with Oddly Dark Productions to make Sleep Without a Dream and the journey continued there. 

But Candace Productions 491 was officially registered in June 2026. 

Values that guide our craft

Loyalty is at the heart of our collaborations.

- Those who volunteer their time in our start up projects are promised to be hired in the funded projects (eg; Vince Groulx, our Actor and Prop Safety guy on Brothers of the Wolf poc shoot)

Authenticity is at the core of this goddess-like entity.

- Our props are hand made (ie; The bible in hand)

- Where Passion goes, Money Flows. We have a crew of passionate filmmakers, who simply enjoy creating. 

A regular Film Producer at Blood in the Snow Festival 

We are incredibly proud of our short film, "Big Iron." With a dedicated crew of 40 volunteers, we shot this cinematic piece at the Sunbelt Film and TV backlot. A significant highlight was having Guillermo Del Toro's steadicam operator, Gilles Corbeil, volunteer his expertise, ensuring "Big Iron" stood out cinematically. We also proudly list collaborative short films like Sleep Without a Dream, Pool of Light, Ultra Cheese(eg: Prudence and Andrew at Blood in the Snow), and Ghost Left Auto, culminating in our latest and biggest project yet: a Canadian Spaghetti Western feature film, Brothers of the Wolf that highlights indigenous peoples' history.
